Pretzel Monkey Bread with Denver Stout Caramel

02 Feb Denver Broncos Pretzel Monkey Bread with Denver Stout Salted Caramel Sauce

One more for my Fox Sports Superbowl campaign, this one's all about celebrating the incredible craft brew culture in Colorado for those Broncos fans out there. I don't ever bake, but this is totally a dessert I can get behind (and this caramel sauce is the best thing I've ever made!). The pull apart bread is made easy with pre-made pretzel dough (you can use biscuit dough too) and made INSANE with a Denver Milk Stout Caramel sauce and crunchy Maldon sea salt flakes. Eat this one fresh out the oven for best consistency (doesn't keep too well, but honestly- it won't last more than 5 minutes without getting devoured).   [yumprint-recipe id='99']...

cooking for luv grilled romaine

02 Nov Grilled Romaine with Vegan Creamy Cashew Caesar Dressing

Caesar salads are one of those great comfort foods that often remain elusive to vegans since it's so tough to replicate the depth of flavor that anchovy and parmesan bring to the table. This recipe aims to please both plant and meateater palates alike by giving some heft to the normally sad vegan caesars (through some serious flavor building). By charring the romaine the normal blank-slate and boring lettuce gets some serious body, and by whipping up a dressing with some of the best secret ingredients in a vegan's arsenal (creamy cashews, cheesy nutritional yeast, and umami bomb Worcestershire) paired with some briny capers (to give it some anchovy-esque goodness), we give the traditional dairy/fish dressing a serious run for its money. Add in some crunchy little croutons and fresh cracked pepper and you have one hell of an epic salad!Vegetarians and meat-eaters can top this with some real deal...

28 Sep Vegetarian Franks and Beans and Greens

My meatless monday creations usually are born from a combo of cravings and whatever the hell I have sitting in my fridge and pantry. This dish is a perfect example of those two coming together in a pretty perfect way, when all I wanted was beans and bbq and I just happened to have every single ingredient sitting around in my kitchen. Smoky, sweet, spicy, and hearty this one pot meal is fabulous to eat on its own or serve alongside a BBQ spread.  [yumprint-recipe id='87']...

cooking for luv smashed potatoes with tahini sauce

10 Aug Smashed Potatoes with Tahini Sauce, Feta, Za’atar and Olives

When I lived in Israel many moons ago, I fell in love with many flavors of the middle east. The most memorable, though, has to be the Za'atar spice blend. A perfect mix of sumac, toasted sesame seeds, sea salt, and the herb Za'atar (a variety of wild thyme we often do not get here in the states so it is often substituted with greek oregano), Israelis put it on everything from baked goods to eggs to meats to pizza. My favorite of all Za'atar food vehicles was from a pizza place around the corner from me, a perfect pie consisting of mozzarella, feta, green olives, and za'atar (I must have consumed several hundred pounds worth in just half a year), and is the inspiration for this recipe. Now, if you've followed me for a while you know that I'm majorly potato-obsessed (really, it's the perfect food- you can do anything...

cooking for luv bucatini basil cashew cream sauce

27 Jul Bucatini with Basil Cashew Cream Sauce + Sweet Corn

I love indulging in creamy comforting pasta dishes, but my body doesn't always think that's such an incredible idea- especially during bikini season. The cashew cream base in this recipe mimics all the delectable happy signals to your mouth and brain that a traditional high fat dairy cream sauce does, but without the extra cellulite (hooray!) and the basil and farm fresh sweet corn brings summer right to your plate. You can use any pasta you'd like (even zoodles for a super guiltless version!), but in my book organic Bucatini can't be beat here. Go forth and conquer that beach body!  [yumprint-recipe id='82']...

Cooking for Luv Wrinkled Potatoes with Olive Crack Sauce

08 Jun Wrinkled Potatoes with Black Olive Crack Sauce

I first experienced wrinkled potatoes, or Papas Arrugadas, at José Andrés' Bazaar restaurant in Los Angeles a few years ago, and they absolutely BLEW MY MIND. Something so simple, tender baby boiled potatoes, transformed by a crusty layer of salt on the exterior and an exceptionally tasty sauce. I've been making them ever since, but had a next level experience with them on my recent trip to Spain at a tiny restaurant in Barcelona called La Gilda because of what I can only call Crack Sauce. As a person who lives for sauces, dressings, and dips, this little bowl of creamy olive based sauce sitting in a pool of ultra spicy olive oil literally caused me to LICK THE BOWL (one of the perks of traveling alone- nobody to judge you from across the table). The owner wouldn't tell me what was in it and my only clue was from...

cooking for luv lux mushroom pate

13 Apr Luxe Mushroom Pate

My vegan foie gras recipe is one of my most popular and I love love love making it to wow friends from carnivores to meatless crusaders. Using lentils and walnuts as the base with ume plum vinegar as the secret ingredient, it has an extremely rich and umami packed flavor profile that you just can't quit eating til the last finger lick from the jar. This past week I was looking to create a legume free option of that recipe so I turned to the other classic meatless pate ingredient: mushrooms. Paired with some similar ingredients to my original (the miso stayed but I swapped in sherry vinegar for the ume plum), a few new secret umami bomb weapons (porcini powder, tamari, mustard powder and capers), some new freshness (with fragrant farmers market thyme and parsley), and the pièce de résistance: ultra lux fatty butter, this new pate is some...

02 Feb Roasted Cauliflower Florets with Pomegranate Goat Cheese Sauce

It's finally the month of love, and everything in my kitchen is coming up pink and red! This recipe uses pomegranates in three forms to create the subtle shades of pink: Pomegranate juice, pomegranate molasses, and pomegranate seeds. Don't let the fancy look fool you, this dish is beyond easy and takes only 5-10 minutes of hands on time! You can find the super tart and pungent molasses at many middle eastern markets, some Whole Foods stores, or online.xoxo,Stephanie[yumprint-recipe id='65']...
