09 Mar Natural Products Expo West 2015 Favorites

This weekend I attended the INCREDIBLE 35th annual Natural Products Expo West, the world's largest event devoted to natural and specialty food and beverages, organics, supplements, health and beauty, natural living and pet products. There were over 60,000 attendees and almost 3,000 exhibitors, all badass inspiring warriors determined to change the world through creating and sharing innovative (and really damn delicious) natural products. I tasted what seemed like a million different bites, and while it was impossible to taste everything (I gave up on the hundreds of power bars, chocolates, ice creams and other sweets after the first hour on the show floor) I snapped some shots of my favorite products (and I did forget many when I was in a complete food coma- epic fail/rookie move). Be sure to keep an eye out for them in your favorite retailers or find online in the coming months! [vc_row][vc_column width='1/2'][caption id="attachment_16468" align="alignnone" width="300"] Bitchin' Sauce:...

02 Mar Purple Kale Salad with Creamy Cashew Avocado Dressing

I can never get enough kale salad, so I'm always inventing new ways to mix up the same old bowl. This recipe was inspired by my new favorite Venice Beach neighborhood watering hole, Clutch, where their Cali-Mex kale and cauliflower salad transported my tastebuds to a very happy place last week. Now when I don't want to walk the three blocks to get it, I can make my own twist at home (but I would still walk a hundred miles for those Mexi nacho fries with avocado crema!). You can make this one vegan by omitting the cojita, but you'll need to up the salt to make up for the loss.[yumprint-recipe id='67']...

02 Feb Roasted Cauliflower Florets with Pomegranate Goat Cheese Sauce

It's finally the month of love, and everything in my kitchen is coming up pink and red! This recipe uses pomegranates in three forms to create the subtle shades of pink: Pomegranate juice, pomegranate molasses, and pomegranate seeds. Don't let the fancy look fool you, this dish is beyond easy and takes only 5-10 minutes of hands on time! You can find the super tart and pungent molasses at many middle eastern markets, some Whole Foods stores, or online.xoxo,Stephanie[yumprint-recipe id='65']...

05 Jan Lemony Kale Salad with Asiago + Panko

My go-to kale salad obsession, this quick recipe is a winner every single time. Be sure to choose bunches of Black/Lacinato/Elephant/Tuscan/Dino (seriously I've never seen a single vegetable with so many different names) with smaller dark and very bumpy leaves (they will be way more tender and flavorful than the XL leaves) and chiffonade them as finely as your knife will let you (for a tutorial- check out my quick video here ). With a bright and bold lemon vinaigrette, tender paper thin black kale, shredded high-quality aged asiago, and buttery toasted panko breadcrumbs, this salad will make any kale hater say KALE YEAH.[yumprint-recipe id='61']...

07 Dec Southern Style Hanukkah Potato Latkes

These ain't your Bubbe's Chanukah latkes. Inspired by my trip this week to North Carolina, my traditional potato pancake recipe (based on my dad's famous "potato pancake" recipe) gets a Southern twist with the addition of my Grandma's favorite onion, the Vidalia (she used to eat them like apples), and her "Milk Gravy" (thank you, mom, for walking me through it!). Try it (trust me) and you'll never look at the festival of lights in the same way again. Happy Chanukah to y'all![yumprint-recipe id='60'] ...
